LIBRARIAN OF CONGRESS ADDS 25 FILMS TO NATIONAL FILM REGISTRY

Great News Jeanette Fans!

Library of Congress picks Jeanette's Naughty Marietta as one of their best films in history.  We knew this all the time.  It is good news to know that the Library of Congress has discovered the best kept secret in Movie history--that Jeanette MacDonald is truly the Silver Screen's Golden Diva.  She set the singing standards for all to follow.  Never surpassed, but always copied.  Now, let's see if we can get more of the world to pay tribute to all of her many wonderful accomplishments.

Subject: Jeanette MacDonald and the Phila. Walk of Fame Event

The Philadelphia Walk of Fame needs you!

Hello

The Philadelphia Music Alliance is having an event that we would love to have Philadelphia area fan club members attend, to make sure Jeanette’s plaque is nice and shiny! Please pass this invitation along. Thank you!

 Join us for

STAR DUST DAY

on the Philadelphia Walk of Fame

Thursday, October 2, 2003

11:30am – 12:30pm

Academy of Music steps, Broad and Locust Streets, Philadelphia

Come help us celebrate the rich musical heritage of Philadelphia found on the Philadelphia Walk of Fame!

Join our crew of volunteers out on the street with buckets and scrub brushes making sure each and every plaque on the Walk of Fame sparkles!

The Walk of Fame is a series of 106 bronze commemorative plaques that honors Philadelphia area musicians and music professionals who have made a significant contribution to the world of music.  The Walk of Fame is a stunning demonstration of the great talent that Philadelphia has produced.  This talent spans many musical genres and time periods, and includes Leopold Stokowski, Frankie Avalon, the Dixie Hummingbirds, Patti LaBelle, Hall & Oates, Bobby Rydell, Solomon Burke, Marian Anderson, Mario Lanza, John Coltrane, Todd Rundgren, McCoy Tyner, Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, and Dick Clark.

Star Dust Day is being hosted by WXPN radio personality Michaela Majoun.  Philadelphia radio legends, including Jerry Blavat, John DeBella and Michael Tozzi, will be serving as block captains, cheering on our corps of volunteer plaque cleaners that will include Walk of Fame members, Philadelphia personalities, musicians and proud citizens.  Some of Philadelphia’s finest musicians will help you whistle while you work, as they perform along the Walk.

Holly Drauglis

Executive Director

Philadelphia Music Alliance
